If you have followed our blogs and messages here at Studio 397 recently, you probably heard earlier this year that Motorsport Games officially stated its intent to take ownership of the Studio from our parent company, Luminis. Whilst the initial announcement was confirmation of an agreement in principle, we are now extremely excited to announce that the acquisition has formally been completed, and Studio 397 are officially part of the motorsport games family.
We are proud of what we have achieved with rFactor 2 in recent years, and these successes have led to the recognition from the sim racing industry that has made this new opportunity possible. We appreciate that Motorsport Games regards our studio as the pinnacle of simracing, and we remain dedicated to stay full throttle working hard to push ourselves and our software even further forward in a genre that we are all so passionate about.
The studio will stay as it is, including its name and brand, as we remain fully dedicated to our title, while looking forward to the added knowledge and resources that Motorsport Games, and it’s studios and partners will bring.
As we will bring our knowledge and technology into other MSG titles, we are fully aware of the weight of opportunity this presents us to grow and develop with those experiences, which will undoubtably feed back into the further growth of our own software. While the ownership of the studio might have changed, our passion, love and dedication to the simracing community certainly hasn’t.
We are excited, thrilled and optimistic about the things to come!
The acquisition went smoothly, and we are all looking forward to work even closer with our friends at Motorsport Games. We are as committed as ever to grow the rFactor 2 platform, as well as provide the base for the simulation components in all future Motorsport Games titles.
