Hello sim racers.
Can you believe it, another season of the rFactor 2 Competition System is ready to go – Season 5 is here!
For this new campaign of virtual racing activity, we have quite the combination of new and exciting content put together for your online racing thrills. From returning favourites the likes of the Open Wheel Sprint, to brand new and fan requested championships like the GT Endurance Trophy and Mini Challenge, plus of course the debut of the mighty Caterham in our Rookie Cup – Season 5 is packed to the brim with new, exciting and entertaining opportunities to head out on track and race with your fellow sim drivers.
The headline for this new season has to be the debut of the GT Endurance Trophy into the Competition System. Utilising the freshly updated and improved GTE class of cars, and putting together longer, 90 minute races leading up to the 2.4 hours season finale, this new series should produce quote the test of driving skill and determination for our fans of longer distance racing adventure – a category that we are sure will provide plenty of racing highlights for many in the rFactor 2 community.
That said, if you like your action on track to be a bit shorter, we’ve got you covered! In keeping with tradition here in the Competition System, the Rookie Cup returns for Season 5, but this time we’ve taken the decision to put aside the little Alpine tin top, and replaced it with our new (and free) Caterham Academy. Anyone even slightly familiar with Caterham will know this means only one thing – immense racing action! We can’t wait to see how these races unfold in the weeks ahead.
