The Adventure
By popular demand, Studio 397 are excited to announce three very special edition esport activations within rFactor 2, featuring three exciting and very different styles of racing designed to test our virtual drivers skills and provide great entertainment for competitors and viewers alike.
Over the next four weeks our intrepid rFactor 2 drivers are cordially invited to join together for what we expect to be an incredible festival of virtual motorsports in three unique and iconic styles of racing. With something for everyone the adventure starts with our drivers taking on the challenge of top level North American StockCar racing, featuring little downforce, long braking distances and the ability to really live the ‘rubbing is racing’ mentality, these cars are a perfect tool to showcase just how close drivers can race together in a pack – plus some of you will get a chance to dust off the h-pattern shifter in competitive racing too!
Following the StockCar Challenge event at Portland, just one week later the speed will jump up tenfold as we go oval racing for the very first time in the rFactor 2 Competition System. Drivers are invited to another one-off racing spectacular with the very first rF250 at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway – an event designed to mimic the challenges of the legendary Indianapolis 500 that will be hosting the 105th running of the ‘Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ this May as the annual blue ribbon event of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series.
With two of the finest racing disciplines in the United States completed, our drivers will be rewarded with a one-week break to rest and recharge before we knock up the intensity level once again and ship out to the famous Nürburgring Nordschliefe for a 60-minute GT3 bonanza at arguably the toughest road course in the world.
At an incredible 25.378km in length the Nürburgring Nordschliefe is a daunting track on which to race, a venue that has long been regarded as the most fearsome challenge in world motorsport, and incredibly still a very popular location even in the modern world of health and safety and ever more sanitized tracks popping up around the globe. Embracing this love of high speed thrills and the ever present chances of making mistakes and losing the race, our drivers will be set fair to round out this very special three event festival of action with some delightful and downright challenging racing on the big German track. With our GT3 selection currently numbering 13 different cars to choose from, this race is set to be a dramatic conclusion to a fabulous few weeks of racing action.
